Title: V&H Eliminator 400 tips have gold tint after long ride
Post by: SIKBIRD on June 05, 2018, 07:03:19 PM
Tried to search the forums before I started this thread but no luck.  Anyhow, while I was riding in the Smokies I noticed that my Chrome exhaust tips had turned a slight gold/copper color.  Over the course of the trip they turned darker.  I have been told that this is normal but curious if it is too lean or too rich or just right.  It washed right off so it’s not anything I’m REALLY worried about but it doesn’t do this when I’m riding at home.  Have any of you experienced this? Could this be related to the thinner air at elevation? It’s an 04 SEEG with true Duals, PCIII, and open air cleaner.

Same thing for me. The tip of my Crusher mufflers (the left side) turns that color too. I have a custom tune and it runs great, so not sure if it means the one cylinder is lean or not. Like you said, the gold tinge just wipes right off, so it's not permanent.

Mine seems to be running great too so I am reluctant to change the map.
