I mounted kit 6700058 on my ‘19 FLHXSE. First I cut the sides off of the stock oem base. Then I drilled 2 holes in the new backing plate. Used 2 bolts through the plate and base. Made a backing plate from some aluminum, put NyLok nuts on.
Original idea was to just bolt it directly onto the original base, but it kinda stuck up too much and would have partially block the light on the license plate.

Here’s a pic of how I mounted the backing plate

Looks good except for the silver colored screws. It needs black screws. Nice job
-
Nice mount but that whole thing just screams to be color matched to the bike.

Thinking that too!

I was thinking the same thing but didn't want to come off as too critical. Changing the screws to black would be a simple and cheap improvement for now. Still looks good.

That gap and galvanized bolts ruins it.
It’s a CVO, treat it as such and stick w the CVO Kuryakyn or Yaffe frames painted to match.

I have a Yaffe. Don’t like the oval cutout. It was on my ‘17 FLHXSE in chrome. So that was an issue with the ‘19. Thought about having it painted to match, but I’m just not a fan of the opening for the plate.
And I have black bolts now, next time I won’t post a pic until I’m done!

I'm with you, I don't care for the oval cut out either and they are illegal in Texas. Put one on and go to the Lonestar Rally in Galveston and chances are you will get pulled over.

I see a lot of thought went into your project but I prefer this look. Much cleaner I think.

I really like that look rayson56 but couldn't get myself to drill holes in my fender

LOL... It only hurts for a minute! :huepfenlol2:
