Title: 08 CVO's
Post by: nomadltd on October 22, 2007, 01:44:30 AM
Hey guys, whats up? I have just recently purchased an 08 Springer Softail CVO. Since I bought the bike, I have been doing a touch or research to see what the rave is all about. I havent recieved the bike yet it should be here any day now. Since I have been looking around on this site, I see there are a ton of peeps having problems with theirs. There are very few posts about an 08 yet, which would stand to reason, but I was wondering if there were any out there that have a few miles on them yet. Does anyone know what the actual power is on them, what they are comparible to, any feedback or thoughts on them?

Ride safe all and enjoy the weather while you can...

Ryan

Welcome from West Michigan.  Your new springer is a work of art.  Post some pics when you get it!  I've had no troubles with mine so far, but only have 650 miles on her.

Well thanks to all for the feedback. My original thoughts were to pick up an 08 heritage, but when I went in and saw the book on the sringer, I had to put my money down. The build date was for April. One day I was walking in the showroom, perusing like normal, and the sales guy called me in his office and told me that I couldn't get the orange one like I wanted, however I could have an aniversary one if I wanted it. The other catch was that the bike was built October 5 instead. So now I get the bike just in time for the snow to fly. I sure am glad thats what them there states are for...My wife, dad and I are planning a trip to LA by truck, then a ride across to Miami and back in Jan-Feb. With any luck I will have a few pictures to post by the time I get back. For pictures of my old bike and my dads new one, check me out on facebook  Ryan Harbison (Edmonton).

I have an 07 SERK and I also have had no problems with mine. As far as power output- I had mine dyno'd stock and the horse was 85.8 and torque was 102.2. Slightly different gearing between bikes but yours should be somewhere in same neighborhood. You'll be very happy with yours- I'm sure.

Welcome to the site. I am waiting for my Aniv. CUSE from Lethbridge HD (Couldn't get one up here in Ft Mcmurray). Sounds like you shop like I do, Saw the pictures and had to have it, then did the research, sure hope all the problems we are reading about stay south of the border. One question for you since you are a fellow Albertan, do you know of any GOOD dyno tuners up here (western Canada) ?

No I don't have any idea about where a good place to take it might be, spare one name that always seems to pop up when I start talking performance. The guys name is Al and he runs a place called Hypertech engines. He is a real straight up kind of guy, and wont hesitate to tell you whats what, even if you don't want to hear it. I have not, however, used him for anything. I was trying to rebuild an 89 FLHTC once so I called him. He wouldn't take the job on till fall, and I wanted to ride so I convinced Heritage Harley to rebuild it. They did a good job, BTW. If you go there request that Kendal work on your bike, he is a good character also.

Good Luck

Ryan

welcome from Western NY.  It's a shame you're getting it right before you have to put it away for the winter.  Talk about Blue Balls!
