I am not sure how anyone could "like" the stock pads over LRB or EBC. This is one case where the a/m is much better than OE, greater stopping power, less effort by user. Just no down side.  I cannot remember when I actually pushed on the rear brake pedal for a normal stop. I make it a practice to put my foot over the brake pedal so I am in the habit of it, just in case of an emergency but otherwise I never mash on it. I do, as stated above use it in slow manuvers to ride against with the friction zone of the throttle. Otherwise the rear brakes on mine are only used by the linking feature.

Harley's website shows my front brake pads are part number 41854-08 that cost $51.95 (each set) and the rear is PN 41852-08 for $57.95.

Lyndall shows the same pads front or rear with PN 7254 for $52/set (for the Z+), or $118.95 for 3 sets on eBay (Thanks 2K!)

I assume the Lyndall's will work and based on what I've read here that's the way I'm going but I have to ask:

Is there a difference in the Harley branded front and rear pads that justify the price difference, (maybe more friction material on the rears) or are they just making a couple extra bucks on the "rears"?

Have always used Lyndall and have never had a problem......of course to say they are better than the HD branded would be an opinion  :huepfenlol2:

When Harley first changed to the Brembo's, I believe in 2008, they had a problem with rear brake squeal.  The rocket science "fix" they eventually came up with, after first trying to blow everyone off per their standard operating procedure, was to add one of those anti-squeal tubes of glop to be applied to the rear pad backing plates.  I bet the higher price reflects the addition of a tube of that crap to the box when you order a set of rear pads.  Much easier to add band-aids versus fixing the real cause of the problem.

If you order Lyndall pads, you will get the exact same pads for front and rear.  Same with other aftermarket pads as best I can determine.

On the Standard Harley Brake Rotors which is the best Lyndall Pad to use The Z, Gold or Xtreme?

I have now, and have used on previous bike, the gold pads.
You definitely dont want the extreme pads.

I put over 50k miles on my Bike's stock brake pads and they can lock up the rear tire if used aggressively. Rotors are still fine ,replaced them with stock pads. Rotors are still in great shape too.
