Day 3 | Salina, KS – Casper, WY

On this day I hoped to conclude the work that I needed to finish prior to departing for vacation.  A number of telephone calls to conduct but still made decent time.

I hit the Denver traffic, unfortunately, and this created a number of delays.  I chose this route in the event of a need for a dealership and was thinking about more time here.  That could not happen on this trip.

The weather was eerie.  Very dark skies, plenty of lighting and rain, heavy winds.  It looked inevitable that I was about to be SLAMED!

Suddenly, there was a slight parting of the clouds as I was nearing the worst part!  There was only one way to describe what was occurring.  God was doing for me what I could not do for myself.  I wanted to stop and take a photograph but in my mind it said…Go, Go, Go!

I have my JR "Cat Tour" Gloves On!

Day 4 | Casper, WY – Missoula, MT

As much as I thought this day would begin my vacation, I still had a little more work to accomplish.  However after the day, I felt like my time would begin.  Remembering that we have to pay to play.

It was all good since I have been to these areas a number of times and it was mostly about getting out west on the first few days.

Along the way I would think of hdbrad as I noticed all of the trains that would pass by.  Each time I would give the ole pull of the chain for the horn.  Most times if they saw me I got a response!  FUN!

While in Spokane, I decided to stop by the dealer for a review of my tire conditions.  Got a really cool shirt here during the GTG that LETS ROLL hosted!  Good Times!

During my visit to downtown Spokane I went for a run with some of the locals!  They seemed a little stiff however in good shape.   ;)

When I was a little boy….FORGOT THAT!

When I was a little man, I Had a Radio Flyer!  YEAH!

Built in 1989 as part of the “Centennial Celebration of Children,” the world’s largest Radio Flyer wagon is not just a sculpture to be viewed, but to be played on as well.

TaDa!

The vintage toy replica stands 12 feet tall and is made of over 26 tons of concrete and steel. Children and adults alike are welcome to climb into the bed of the wagon, which is big enough to fit around 300 people.

WEEEEEEEEE!

The giant white handle also acts as a slide so no one is tempted to just hop out of the towering toy.

The Garbage Goat in Riverfront Park was designed by Sister Paula Turnbull, a Catholic nun, for Expo '74 as a recycling/environmental statement.

This corten steel sculpture of a goat will eat small pieces of trash with the aid of its vacuum digestive system.  It will even eat my hand!

The historic Monroe Street Bridge was built between 1909 and 1911 to replace its two predecessors, a wooden bridge that burned down and a steel bridge that vibrated unnervingly. The concrete behemoth was adorned with decorative fixtures, including bison skulls cast in concrete.
