After getting’ bit in da azz by the Bear, another long day – When I say long I mean a hotel check-in after 10pm with an early start time each day.  I arrive BACK in Rapid City, SD!  Now what?

Jock I wish I would have know. 3 other DC firemen and myself made the same trip. We ended our trip at Glacier and beat feet east after that. We did not do Chief joseph Hwy this year. We ended up doing the Grand Loop. No matter what it is absolutely beautiful out there!!!! Thanks for sharing your trip with us.

I wish!  Instead I woke up to a check engine light that I discovered three miles outside of Rapid City.  What to do? 

I decide to take the bike to the Rapid City Dealership for them to read the code.  I am greeted by a gentleman who was working from another dealer down in Phoenix, AZ.   He appears to be knowledgeable and checks out the code – Coolant Pump!  SHAZAM!

He states that they have a shipment coming this morning if that is the case.  I check out the line in front of me and decide to make it happen.  Good decision.

He works with me regarding a number of concerns – under promises and over delivers which proved to be a great experience.  Being appreciative of his attention I reward his efforts and spend some extra cash inside the dealership on some well-priced clothes.

What could have been a disaster was greeted with a pleasant experience.  GOD was certainly with me and had me covered.
