Inviting your flames
« on: December 22, 2017, 11:07:26 AM »

I have been bad mouthing the M8, Harley, and the CVO's ever since my 2012 CVO SG dropped a spring back in August.  I mean I have been talking a lot of crap. In my persistent bad mood I have said some things I am not proud of, and I apologize to you all for that.

Well, it's someone else's problem now.  I traded it for a new '18 Heritage S with the 114 M8 motor and Ann paint scheme.  Looks pretty good and costs less than half of what a new CVO costs.  First hundred miles it rides pretty nice.

It's like a CVO but It's not: big motor, fancy paint and badges, all blacked out, only 1500 made bla bla bla.

So go ahead and flame away my friends.

PS, I have the color matched trunk on the for sale board $1000 shipped lower 48.

I always thought the MoCo should make a CVO Heritage.

Great looking bike!

Enjoy your new ride.

No flaming here.  I completely understand the frustration and hope you got some good out of the trade.  That '18 Anni Heritage looks very nice.  Congratulations and I pray many, happy, trouble-free miles to you on it.

I always thought the MoCo should make a CVO Heritage.

Always thought MoCo missed a beat by not doing a CVO Heritage also.  Only ever had a few Softails but the favorite of those I did was an Evo era Heritage.

Congrats on the new ride.  The MoCo may not deserve nor have earned your money again for a new bike.  You, however, have earned spending it however you damn well please.  So enjoy the ride  :2vrolijk_21: .

Yeah, I know.  The catalog has one choice for replacement chrome wheels at $750 each, not including all the hardware needed to mount them.

Bought my wife an 18 Heritage S (114) in black back in Sept and she absolutely loves it.  The twin balancers in the 114 make it smooth as silk.  Can't believe it is actually a harley!  Only issue we have had is trying to get accessory parts.  Still waiting for tour pak mounting bracket that was ordered back in September!

Looks great!

Is that the stock seat and if so, what backrest is that?

They had my passenger backrest in stock and the quick mounts for it, but the luggage rack is on backorder.

Great looking bike.  I love that Anniversary color scheme, one of the best the have done.

Got to move pretty quick, the 114 in a bike that is a good bit lighter than a touring bike.

You asked for flames...here goes-

That worked out well for your dealership and the MoCo.  They sold you their highest-end product and you were not happy with it due to mechanical issues.  You were so disillusioned with your Harley that you rewarded HD and your dealership by buying another.  So they profited on two new sales plus what the dealer made on your trade.  Only in HD world does this make sense...crazy, isn't it?

BTW, nice bike.  Hope the 114 is trouble-free.

Greg yes it is the stock seat.  Of course HD does not offer a backrest.  When I got the Heritage home I got looking at the rear seat mount bolts and discovered they were Identical to my CVO SG.  The picture is actually the backrest off my bike because I tested fitted for www.cvobackrest.com as they wanted pictures of their backrest on a Heritage.  They had no idea up until my contact that the setup was the same.  Long and short of it, I ordered another bracket and pad from them and it fits perfect on the new Heritage.  Their pad is actually thicker because my pad on the CVO is the seat matching for my bike.  My wife loves it.
