Can Bluetooth Communication options be Combined.?
« on: March 09, 2018, 04:37:28 PM »

Now that Harley has done away with CB radios in the new bikes, I'm considering options for communications with the fellas I ride with, especially on long trips on the road.

In this scenario, what would be  the best communication option so that everyone can chat using Bluetooth.?  One of the bikes is a 2010 Ultra w/CB.  Most of the other bikes are 2017 or newer Ultras...

Is there a BT module the 2010 Ultra guy can buy that would comm with the other newer bikes riding..?  And what option are the newer ultras using.?

Certainly no expert on BT options but I’ve read extensively about them. If you don’t mind the  cord hook up I think adding a CB to your bike is easiest, best and least costly option. I did so on my 2018 Tri-Glide. Bought module and antenna at discount from Boardtracker H-D. Easy install as harness and antenna connection is already there. Plug and play.

This is a coincidence...  I recently sold by bike(s) and now am riding a 2018 Tri-Glide..    What would the approx cost be for the CB parts you mentioned.?

I ordered this from Boardtracker H-D in September, 2017.  Hopefully prices have not changed:

CB Communications Kit 76000486A  $265.00
CB Antenna Factory OEM Long 76250-09 $29.00 (matches the factory AM/FM you already have in length & appearance)
Mounting Stud Set Screw 76000166 $0.82 (needed to screw the antenna into the mount)
Switch Pak with PTT button 715000130B  $136.00 (you can also get a set of lighted switches for both left and right with the PTT button - see the P&A catalog)

Works great and very, very easy install.
