They didn't always have too. PHD program / MMI started in the eighties during the block head days. But as I found with one tech. He is stubborn, and not thorough. Thing he should have checked but refused. He even jumped down my throat when I pointed out his mistakes. He took it personal.

As for compression. I have the 103 stroker pistons and the streaming eagle Kompressor heads. So 10.5/1 Kompressor.

Those pistons fit the chamber of a SE CVO 103, 2003-2006 not your heads. The kompressor heads at 103" will have close to 11:1 with flat tops. Be careful with cam choice. The 257 will go there but still will need a spot on tune

The previous motor was identical in configuration except for the headers and it ran great with that with that setup before. when I originally did this motor we pulled up a spec sheet that show the motor to be about 10 and a half but even at 11:11 to 1 it's not bad it just has to be tuned right. The dealer didn't do that this last time they did a tune but it was extremely rich and I managed to prove to them how much richer it is because there was an eight mile per gallon difference in the gas and you stand behind the bike you can smell it. so they finally agreed to retune it this week so I'm taking it in I'll let you know how it does I also told him I wanted to change my Mufflers to the to the CVO pipes that I had with the full stack baffles they agreed to do that as well.
