extended handlebars

got a2004 flht that I want to put extended handlebars on . question is , how high can I go before I get into extending the wires, cables, brake lines ,etc.?

Generally between 10 and 12 inches before you get in trouble. Really depends on the bar manufacture as they all don't measure the same. I did 12" Wild 1's on my 13 RG with no add ons. Best bet is to settle on what is the most comfortable height for you and then do what is necessary to make them work. You are after comfort, right ;)
