Heated Grip Options for 2019
« on: November 27, 2018, 08:02:32 PM »

Hello everyone,
As you all know the Road Glide CVO is the only touring CVO out without heated grips.  Was wondering what those that added heated grips used.  I like the Defiance collection that came with the bike and has left me with a dilemma.  I live in the NW so heated grips would definitely be beneficial.  What are you folks using?  I came close to just getting the Kahuna set and call it a day, then I look at the bike and think the grips on are great.  Just looking to see what others have used on the 2018-2019 CVO.

Thanks

Do the heated grips on the SE Limited match yours only heated?   If so, order the ultra ones and keep the look you already like

Unfortunately both the Limited CVO and Street Glide CVO use the Kahuna collection, while the Road Glide CVO uses the Defiance Collection.  Initially I thought the same, that's why I was leaning toward the Kahuna heated grips.

Heat demon has heating elements that go under any grip.  I have no personal experience with them. But maybe worth checking out

Unless they've changed, they actually go in the bars. I installed a set of them a long time ago in my '02 UC I had.

Since there is no Defiance heated grips for our 2018 SERGs these Airflows match what is on the 2018 SESG and are a little more nondescript and would blend well on our bikes. You can either buy this kit or piece meal the parts together from the Street Glide. Our bikes are partially pre wired for them as is the SG and Ultra. Outpost Alaska lists the parts needed, or here is the link for the kit;

Heat Demons don’t fit the RG due to the elongated clamp.

I also think the Kahunas would look the best.  They are available in Chrome or Black.  Even have the Red Bar and Shield like everything else on the Road Glide CVOs.

As said earlier I was going to do heat demons on my 18 CVO RG, but they would not work.  And in 2018 I did not like the Street Glide heated grips because no bar and shield.  If I was to add grips now, it would be the Kahuna due to bar and shield, the closest match.

14 CVO King has an 18 (I believe) which has the Defiance collection with the Orange logos and has no heated grip offering that's why I suggested the Airflow grips. For you guys with 19s that come with the Kahuna collection with Red logos the matching Kahuna heated grips would definitely be the go to grips although either would work. Just personal preference.

Thanks for the input everyone.  I did look at the Heat Demons, but as mentioned above they would not work for our Road Glide.  I ended up going down to the local dealership, they had a Street Glide CVO and Kahuna grips for me to compare and try out.  Ended up going with the chrome set of Kahuna heated grips, and got 20% off so it was a good day.  Also got an email that my bars shipped so I will be able to put everything together this weekend.
