Have you heard of the Blue Knight Special Edition Harley?
« on: May 12, 2007, 12:52:46 PM »

I learned something while reading the latest Blue Knights News. I thought I would share with everyone.
On page 13 there is an article by a Blue Knight named Jerry Bryan from the OK I chapter. He talks about an agrement between the Blue Knights and the MOCO back in 1987 to have 75 bikes produced with special edition paint and emblems for the Blue Knights.
In order to get one of the limited edition bikes you had to sign a contract and have membership confirmed by the Blue Knights International Office.
That bike had two tone paint of Night Watch Blue with Cadet Blue accent panels. (That color pattern was used in the H-D Peace Officer Special Edition bikes.) The paint was finished off with silver and light blue pinstripes. Per the article these bikes were also some of the first from Harley to have the crinkle black paint and chrome covers. They also had custom insignia on the tank sides and the rear of the king tour pak.
Sales were slow for Harley in 1987 and it took three years to sell the 75 bikes that had been agreed upon. Sales of the Blue Knight Specials ended in 1989.
Sorry I do not have any photos of those bikes, I thought you might find this info interesting.
If you have any info on one of these bikes you can contact Jerry Bryan at Jbryan@BlueKnights.org

My husband and I just purchased one of the limited edition Blue Knights 1988 Electra Glide Classic Shrine.
Any more information on this classic would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome to the site CamoQueen75,

I would suggest you contact Harley and maybe the HQ of the Blue Knights to get the particulars of that bike you have. They may be able to provide records of who bought it or just info on that model line.
Not sure why you you link the Shrine name to the bike though....

Here is a link for the Blue knights:

When ordering a new P.O. special bike it IS part of the Shriners editions. The Peace Officer, Fire Fighter and Shriners are all Shriners editions.

Thanks for the info jachd17,
I have never heard the Shriner name attached to the Blue Knights or Peace Officer bikes but I also have not tried to buy one either...

Yes, my title says it's a model FSH.
Thank you for the reply and the link. I will be contacting both Harley and the Blue Knights.
