Tires, Again
« on: July 19, 2008, 07:25:04 AM »

I know there has been a lot of talk on here about tires, I have 10,800 miles on the tires that came on the bike new, its ready for a rear but front still has a lot of miles left on it, but i am going to change both at the same time. Really don't want to buy from dealer but looks like going to have to. Metzeler makes the rear in a Radual but not the front, and seems no one else does either. H-D has got it set up where you cannot buy these tires from anyone but the dealers, even tho they are Dunlops. If anyone else has bought new tires what did you buy?

I bought new Dunlops from here:
http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/

rear tire was $119 & FREE shipping. Had it mounted by a independent shop.

Howie,
The Metzler steel radial line is limited to the Sport bike class as I underctand it. It seems to be a weight thing-the big touring bike tyres are designed for a wider range of handling. Check this out

FYI I have over 25K on mEtzlers between a SERK and SEUC and I have been very happy.
