I have had Metzler ME 880s on four previous FLH Framed bikes and was very happy with them. last set purchase last March in Phoenix. I only got 5,000 mile out of the rear and it was worn way down, correct air pressure maintained rear 42 lbs. Checked with others who had the "Newer" Metzler, guess what? All of the newer Metzlers are being manufactured in Brazil not Germany like the previous ones. Tire width was narrower and wore a lot quicker, 5,000 miles vs. 10,000 - 12,000 miles for a rear.

In Sept we where down in Bend Oregon put on a set of the Dunlop E3s on the B/B SEEG, put both front and rear so as not to mix tread pattern and hardness. Drove through rain and mountain curves back to Calgary and the tires handled very well.

I really did like the original German manufactured Metzler ME 880, and if they go back to supplying the German ones may consider going back.
