Windshield
« on: April 28, 2009, 03:50:40 AM »

Got 250 miles on my new SEUC and not sure I like the windshield. I am 6' and my line of sight is right at the top of the windshield. I like the looks but am thinking I am going to have to replace it with a higher one. Any one else have this issue or do you just get used to it.

It is a lot of personal preference but I can't stand looking through the windshield.  I actually went with a shorter shield for me and a 12" when the wife rides a long ways.

Just ordered the KW 10.5" flare.  Should be in two to three weeks.

The Road Glide guys in my group love the KW flare.  The 6.5" version

Hoping the Ultra version is as good.

I bought the HD light smoked king windshield for my SEUC4 and put it on at the time of deliver. I look through the windshield and have no problems with distortion and most importantly, none with wind and rain. I like mine a lot and have no interest in looking for anything else.

I did ride with a 15 for a while and didn't mind the looking through the shield.  And I agree the rain wasn't an issue either.  It was a lot hotter.  I have gotten use to looking over the shield after three years.

What size?

anybody know what the stock size is? Coming off a street glide i got used to looking over the shield and the one that came on this Ultra seems about 1.5 inches too tall for me, also noticed some buffeting when i have a full face helmet on.

For those trying to find a proper height shield, you may want to look around on this site. Good info :

I believe the stock height on the Street Glide is 6" at most 8".

Tha Ultra CVO comes with a 10" standard.

My HD after market lightly smoked windshield is 12 3/8 inches from the top of the chrome on the outside fairing of my SEUC4.

Here here.

That's what I'm talking about.  I would need a 15" minimum to look through.

Who makes it?

Ok I am 6'5" and looking to get a clearview recurve.  Anyone here about my height? What size did you order? are you happy with it or would you get taller or shorter next time?

Are you referencing my response? The 12 3/8 light smoked is made by the MoCo.
