Did they replace his radio?
« on: October 12, 2009, 08:06:17 PM »

I have a good friend on the site that has had problems with his 2009 CUSE volume controls. If he has the AVC on he cannot excede 1/2 volume at speed. We found this weekend that if the AVC is off he can get 3/4 volume? Dealer said they replaced the HK head, but the same results. I was wondering if there was a way to find out if they actually replaced the head. Unlike newer cars there is not a code you have to punch in if you change the battery of if you have your unit stolen, do any of you know if there is a way to determine if the unit was replaced?  Dave

Jim has been at a loss on this one as well. The dealer tried to blame the Hawg Wires amp he installed, but that is AFTER the head unit. Just trying to determine if they really replaced the head. He never lost settings of XM, this is odd to me, wasn't there a code you had to put in for XM to work? They never asked for that.

XM settings are held in the XM module and would remain the same.

Look on the bottom of the unit. Should have a big orange "refurb" sticker.
