We have heard "the proof is in the pudding". Let's hear from you guys that have high mileage(50,000+) bikes and what oil you have used from the beginning.

Fireguy, a good friend of mine made it to 180,000 miles on his 2001 twin cam 88B before the balancing tensioners went bad and he had to do a complete rebuild thru Harley Remanufacture Program.(He did change the cam tensioners at least twice before that then he went to S&S gear drive with the 510 cams) The only oil he ever used since his bike was new is Harley Dino oil as per his owner's manuel, and as far as I know he only changes his oil and filter every 5K.  His riding is about 70 freeway miles per day most of the year(SO. Cal.) to work and a lot of cross country. Sturgis, Milwaulkee etc. It makes me wonder if the extra I pay for Redline or Amsoil is really worth it. BYW He does have a HD oil cooler. CAHDBIKER

2006 with 59,000 miles always has had synthetic oil HD, knock on wood, no issues to date even with increase in HP.

Just getting broke in.

 ;D ;D ;D
98 road king with 116,000 miles  always on Casterol GTX 20/50. Runs like a Singer sewing machine. Ticka-ticka-ticka. Still love my old scooter, almost a part of me now.

True That!

I traded in my 08 Ultra with 48K.  Just turning over 4K on my '10 SEUC, so we'll let you know in a couple of years  ;)

I have always used Castrol GTX 20/50 in all my bikes. '80 Sturgis with over 125,000 miles. and an '08 Road King with 32,000 working on 50,000.
Never had any problems with the heat except in heavy traffic which will happen with any oil or bike. The '11 FLHXSE2 will get the same.
