If by 'on top of'...you mean in the box...there was an SG in the box of a GMC last eve on the ferry home.

I still don't follow.  Are you asking if it's possible to put a SESG in the pickup truck box with a 1500 crew cab?  That should be easy enough to figure out once you know the interior length of the pickup box and the overall length of the motorcycle.  Many crew cab trucks come with a short bed only, which could be a problem when trying to get a 96.2 inch long motorcycle like the SESG in the bed.

Yes, it was a 4door.....and a shortbox......it was on some type of a rail that extended out onto the folded down tailgate. If I had known there was going to be some interest in this subject, I woulda snapped a pic or 2. I did notice that he had taken the windshield off...probably to get under the 7', to not get charged extra as 'over height'.

I think what he is asking is if it will actually fit in the bed.

THe 2007-up (GMT-900) Chassis comes in a crew-cab-short-short-bed... IF I recall correctly the bed is 5'-8" long inside the box....

the box is also deeper, making the gate a little longer.....

BRB.. let me go and measure.

OK.. yes.. 68" inside the box, add another 23" with the gate down.

Keep in mind this tailgate design isnt the strongest from a structural standpoint... so not sure how well it would support an #800 bike

diff ways but works best is i put my condor wheel chock in back then back my truck into ditch in front yard then drive her in then listen to wife yell all the way to ohio about drivin thru her yard. she settles down after that next 500 miles go by pretty fast. other times i use a ramp.

A bud used to load his backward on the snowmobile trailer...then back it up on a berm...with the p/u on the low side.....tilt the deck...butt them up...and drive across.....never did say how he did unloading/loading at the other end of the trip. His F350 had a 6" lift too.

have left a 3/4 inch plywood board that streched to the tailgate for extra support. when getting to your destination if you have a friend that has trailered there bike with a fold down tailgate on the trailer. back your truck up with his trailer gate on your open tailgate back off the truck into the trailer, then drive off

If you were going to haul your bike a lot, I saw this at a bike show... makes it easy but about a $2,500 investment.
