I have a 2010 FLSTSE and I have changed the windshield to a 2012.  The next step is adding the sound system.  I noticed that mine has to springs with clips that lock down in a slot on one of the mounting bolts on each side.  It appears that the newer ones don't have those parts.  How is the windshield held on on the 2011 & 2012 models?  Is there any kind of retainer or clip to keep it in place?  Thanks.

On the 2011 the windshield gets pushed on and down to seat it in place and to remove you just lift up and pull towards you.

So there is no type of retainer spring or clip?  My 2010 has a spring loaded clip that locks it on.  I think HD removed it to make room for the sound system.  Thanks.

No, no retainer clip on it (2012).  Tilt in and down and it secures it.  There are rubber grommets that help secure it, but that is it.  There is a pic of the lower bolt in this thread with the windshield on.  The upper one is relatively the same except no light on it.

Thanks guys.  Got it.  HD has eliminated the retainer clip for 11 & 12.
