Title: J&S Jack with Air Assist (Issue)
Post by: dm930 on October 18, 2016, 08:30:58 AM
Hey guys,

I came across this jack by accident but always wanted one as it's the Holy Grail of all jacks.  What's better is that it was a 25-minute drive to pick it up after I negotiated the price to $300.00 ($625 including shipping new) and it was used once.  It looks brand new!  I had the guy test it by manually pumping it and then attached to his compressor and everything worked great.

I loaded it in my truck and brought it home and rolled it in the garage.  This morning I decided to lift my bike and test it out.
Won't manually pump or air assist pump.  Can't figure out if I'm doing something wrong.  I made sure the release valve was closed.  The T-bar won't stay out of the way of the foot pump unless I hold it up also.

HELP please....

Ok, figured it out.  While transporting it home, we lifted it up to get in my truck and the frame bar just came off the piston head.  Put it back in place and voila!

It's up in the air.  Yes, 1st time was a bit unnerving but I went slowly.  Pics in the link.  Let me know if I lined it up correctly underneath or if I should move it forward or back in the future.
Thanks guys...

I couldn't get your link to work.  Did you lift that into the truck too?  It's probably just me.

Climb around on it like they do in the video. If it doesn't fall, you're good. ;)

Just checked. The photo link works fine.

After I got it all the way up, I was surprised and relieved at how stable it truly is.  Very impressed.  What's better is it leaves a very small footprint for what it does.  Still can't believe it lifted almost 900 lbs without laboring at all.

The link does not work for me but that may be because I am using a pad and not on my PC.

If the bike sets fairly level you have the jack in the right place. Sometimes you have to move a little back and forth till you get it just right. Once you know the spot for your bike you can get it off the ground quicker. These kind of jacks work great outside for cleaning especially the wheels. :2vrolijk_21:

While you are talking about the footprint, mine will easily stand on one end and lean against the wall for almost no footprint. I don't have air, but don't think that should matter.
