I love motorcycles, not just H-Ds. I purchased a 2009 Buell 1125R just when they announced that Buell would be shuttered. Before the 1125R Buells were a joke. Any Japanese 600 could eat them alive. No respect- didn't deserve any either. Nice chassis, sucky motor. Then the 1125R came out. Suddenly, America had a weapon! Go fast parts came out for them. They started showing up at the drag strip. They were FAST and gave the European and Japanese bikes a run for the money. My 1125R had the intake, exhaust, and race ecm. My best time at the strip was 10.55 seconds and I am by no means the best rider. I have witnessed several 1125Rs take 1000cc Japanese bikes and even a Hayabusa with a skilled rider on the machine. People started to take notice and respect the 1125Rs. Harley was there! They had a bike that could compete and did. They killed it off and they're gonna try and compete with the Japanese again? With what? ...another "made in India" rebrand that is thousands more than a rock-solid bullet proof unit from Japan? I sold the 1125R a couple years later. The kid that bought it was coming off a Yamaha R1. I replaced it with a Kawasaki ZX14r. Love the bike and still own it. Best time on it is 9.97 seconds. At least I can tell the kiddies that H-D did once have a division that made a bike that could compete with the Japanese. I don't see that ever happening again.
