I just did this last weekend. Had to race a loud mouth friend with a 103. My 12 flhxse3 was at 4600 rpm at a bit over 120 in 6 th. I think the bike only has the ability to pull about 125 MPH in 6 th

How bad did he beat you LOL  :huepfenlol2:  :huepfenlol2:

Nice.  But you haven't done 120 yet.  There's this thing called speedo error.

:confused5:  Unless you changed the final drive ratio, 120 should be about 5200 rpm in 5th gear.  Are you saying your bike won't pull 5200 rpm in 5th, or are you one of the guys who did the 30 tooth trans sprocket?

Jerry
saying it probably won,t stay together.

Unfortunately true.  They are fast by just a bit.  So whatever you just touched on the speedo wasn't actually quite reached yet.  No appreciable difference in the pucker factor though.  Still get points for that.

I also am not lookin at my tach  :nixweiss:  If and when I even do go over a hundred (on a HARLEY)

crotchrocket all day long over a hundred for miles and miles  ;)
Rode my son-in-laws R-1 to 131 and had to make an exit. Then got on my  :pumpkin: for some more! At 112 or so on a very windy day I started getting a little wobble on the handlebars!!  :o  The Pumkin got there quick and felt like she had some more to give! Don't remember the RPM's but seems like I had plenty to spare! That wiggle was my cue to ease out.  ;D After a shock upgrade I may try it again??

That's good! I've heard a few guys on the forum talk about some bad wobbles on some new models at even 100 MPH. One guy said he went down?? Not Good!! I think the wind contributed to mine that day. It wasn't like a tank slapper bout to happed just more wiggle in the handle bars than I felt comfortable with!
