Decided on My 1st Mod...zumo upgrade to 665
« on: May 16, 2012, 05:28:53 PM »

This is my 1st ride with tunes and I really want XM so I am going to sell 660 on ebay its brand new haven't even taken it out of the box.  I totally disassembled the fairing yesterday to check out the cradle wiring since the 660 & 665 cradles are not interchangeable.  Everything comes apart easy. but you need to take it completely apart to get to the wiring.

ejv,

What part of the cradle did you have to change on your '12 ConV to make the 665 work? I have a '10 that I am adding the '12 windshield and deflectors to and strongly considering adding a Zumo 665 instead of the 660. Before I order parts it would help to know what needs to be changed to make the 665 work.

Thanks,

MikeV

The cradle that came with the 660 will not work with the 665.  When I purchased the 665 the direct hard wire cradle comes with it so you don't need to buy anything extra.  if your up grading your windshield you just need the cradle mounting bracket from HD. I played around with several spots to mount the antenna for the XM I finally ordered a chrome tech mount and that works great.  I will post up some pics when get a chance.
