We have ten people in our group, staying in two cabins.  Three of the ten, me, AK and Dirtyharry, are from this site.  Of course Mr. Magoo will be staying in the same campgrounds.

Three from my group, plus Mr. Magoo will be riding the infamous Screamin Eagle Electra Glide.  Should be quite the show.........a site to be seen. [smiley=6.gif]

Not to get caught up in a political debate but I'm at a loss to understand the point that they'd try to make by boycotting Sturgis.  The people of the state of South Dakota procsecuted and the people of South Dakota found him guilty.  It was one man, judge Steele that had the ultimate responsability to sentence him.  If your friends feel that strong, they should go to Sturgis and join the protest that's being sponsored by AMA.  If there conviction is so strong, I'm sure that they're already aware of the protest being set up by AMA.

At any rate, we're going to have a great time and personally, I hope it's not so crowded! JMHO [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

Yah not sure of there logic, I feel the only ones that loose are the vendors  and they didn't have anything to say about the sentence.  Like you said it was one guy that decided his fate.

Maybe.....let's talk about it, as it gets closer.  Are you riding alone?  We've got nine people in our group (unless anybody else drops out) and all guys, so far.

We'll be leaving Sac. around 2:00 p.m. on Friday Aug.6th and riding to Elko that night.
and riding to Casper, Wyoming Sat. night and Sturgis on Sunday.

I'm ridin with one other guy, unless we pick up a couple at the last minute. We're scheduled to be in Rapid City for Sat. nite. We might have to get out of town earlier than you boys, but we've been known to make it there in 2 days before. AK, my buddy at Reno HD, Lewis, the Sales Manager, is a closet poker addict. If you stop, I'll have to get you hooked up with him. I'll keep you posted as time gets near. [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif]

Check out the South Dakoda School of Mines and Technology dorms located a couple of miles from the Rapid City Civic Center.  They rent during Sturgis week for about $20/night/person.  You can rent linens and towels for the week for about $20 also.  Contact Peggy Johnson at SDSM&T, 605-394-6774.  Best kept secret in Sturgis!

If anybody is looking for lodging still, I have two sleeping cabins (similar to the KOA cabins....no running water or toilets inside the cabins, just a room full of bunkbeds and you bring your sleeping bag) that I'll let go for half price.  Very affordable, especially in Sturgis.

The cabins are at the Whispering Pines Campgrounds.  The link to the campgrounds is on the first post in this thread.  Email or PM me right away, with your phone number and we can discuss this further.
