Well as a few know, I have expanded my "Stable" with yet another CVO. Thanks partly to the MV13 GTG and seeing Pete & Spyders' - '04 SEEG's, That was one of the bikes I wanted to have... So, now after a lot of looking, searching and pricing to find one with lower mileage, I found one and it's everything I thought it would be.
Low and behold, I found in Greeley, Co and traveled by plane to Colorado and rode back home, same as last year when I bought my 09SERG... Only this time it was a little colder, cold as he!!...
A few pics so far. A few chrome options that the previous owner installed were a :
* Chrome Inner Primary
* Chrome frame guards
* Chrome belt guard
* Chrome switch covers
* Chrome headlight Bezels
* Bassani Road Rage 2-1
Future upgrades and changes:
* Relocated L.P. bracket
* New Handlebars
* New seat (gotta get further down and back...)

Did you feel claustrophobic behind that compressed dashboard at all? After riding the SERG it would be hard for me to ride an SEEG just cause it "feels" small to me = and yes, I know they are the same frame :D
Either way, she's a looker and I am happy for you.
-
Congrats Paul! I sure miss my ole girl at times....Enjoy the new ride!
-
Can't beat that bike. Great job. You will love everything on that bike. I still get to see mine at my buddy's house all the time. :)
-
Nice looking bike! How many miles does it have on it?
When I picked it up. it had 18,770.... I put about 1600 getting it back to South Louisiana.
Good ride, but damn it was cold up there. Something about doing 75 on a road that has snow in the fields on both sides for miles, that doesn't seem appealing to me..but it was a good trip.

After riding the SERG, it takes a little getting used to, and both the other bikes have different handlebars...that took a little too get used to.

Congrats. The 02 Candy Brandywine SERK & the 04 Blue & Black SEEG represent the CVO's at there best!

That's the same way I felt after riding the SEEG for several years then getting on Andy's SERG.....just way different even though it's the same chassis.
Just think, Andy has to go through those changes every time he changes from one of his SEEGs to his SERG to his SEUC to his Road King to his Ultra Classic. That's a man of constant change. :P

Having a spare is great when your west coast friends show up and need a bike, , hint, hint!

Thinking about it Pete.
Question...
What kind of upgrades has anyone done to this 103 to wake it up a lil bit?
Plan on taking that Bassani exhaust off and put a D&D 2-1, maybe upgrade a few things to swing some more numbers...

Do you know what kind of Cam you have in that machine? I had a 96cc upgraded to a 103 w/255 Cam and it worked out just fine.

From my research, It seems to have the SE253 stock cams in it, and has only had a stage 1 upgrade. Although it was tuned in Colorado and ran ok up there, being a mile high, It started to pop on decel and run a little rough when I got it to SeaLevel... Prob need to get another tune down here for the elevation change.

What does he do, and Is it a business or has he done a build on an 04?

If you want to do just cams take a look at the Red Shift (Zippers) 575 or the Freedom cams (can't remember what model/PN they were)... both of these cams were designed specifically for the heads in the CVO 103 engines. Send hd-dude a PM and he can give you some info/details on the Freedom cams.

Just a heads up :2vrolijk_21:
And a whole bunch of others. There's no warning on the clutch basket.....no noise, no performance difference. Just cruizin up the freeway and all of a sudden the motor starts racing like I pulled the clutch in. And did I say that was out in the middle of nowhere? I wasn't even aware that California had "out in the middle of nowhere" until that happened. :D
If I remember right (can't count on that)....there's a page of dyno sheets with mods for the SEEGs. That thread would probably have been started in 04 or 05 so it'd be back in the archives someplace.

Sachs built my 04. Same as yours. S&S cams. Some head work,, clean up the pistons. 115 hp. 119 tq. I was very happy with those numbers. That bike still runs great. My buddy has it now. Loves it.

John is a go to guy for getting your heads set up for your build. He's extremely reasonable as well as knowledgeable. Well worth a phone call. I sent you a pm on the other issue.

I'll tell you he is amazing as to how he can make a motor. He just finished my 12 sg3. 122hp. 120tq. Bike runs smooth as glass with no heat issues. Pulls like crazy. I wouldn't go anywhere else. I want to say he is the Master. But he will yell at me. :P

Interestingly.....I bought a t-shirt up in Big Bear last weekend that says "50% of the emergency room visits begin with somebody saying 'watch this!'...." :huepfenlol2: :huepfenlol2: I've been a prime example more than my fare share of times......the most recent being when I broke my hip on a wave runner down in Key West a couple of years ago.
Thanks again to Jorge & Martha for bailing me out on that one! :2vrolijk_21:

This is my 103. Stock pistons, heads cut for 10.1 compression the rest is in my signature.

Mountains? Mountains at MV? Come on, those are just mounds with hollers and twisties.

It's more mountains than I'm used to seeing, besides my Colorado trip. I'm used to riding paved roads thru swamp land and flatter than .... Well, flat...
I love me some MV though...more than I'm used to...

Yeah, I always thought I was riding the 'mountains' also until I left the Blue Ridge and went out and crossed the Rockys and up and over the Grand Tetons.. :o..waaayyy to high! :nervous: har. spyder

I had the Zippers Redshift 575's. Took them out because of the noise. Top end sounded like a sewing machine between 2000-3000 RPM
Also tried D&D Fat Cats 2-1. Couldn't stand the heat anymore from the rear pipe and my wife really didn't like the heat. So they are now off.
I think your cam choice may depend on the condition of the crank. Some of the cams that some listed are gear drive.
Checking the cam tensioners is a must!!!
There were two suppliers of chains back then. Some had tensioners fail at 10,000 - 12,000 miles. Others had tensioners that went 50K plus, but you have to look.
When I did mine I added the SE cam plate and pump.
Last time mine was apart I did S&S 570 cams. Had John Sachs do the heads. Valves, deck, CC port etc. When the heads were done compression releases were added. My bike was always a hard starting hot, especially after short hot soak (like getting fuel).
Also had him do the cylinders .010 over to clean up.
I'm happy with the way it runs.
Good luck with the B&B. I like my red bike, but the B&B has always been my favorite.

Gary's bike is a good example of how similar yet different these bikes can be. He has had the 575's since the beginning and always liked them.
I never really cared for them though.
Same with the tensioners. LtBawb's 05 Teal had tensioners/oil pump fail around 10,000 miles. My bike had tensioners at 25K that looked good enough for another 25.
His crankshaft was under .001
Mine was .003

Not yet, Trying to get ready for Sturgis and getting my "ducks in a row"...
About to start ordering parts and getting ready though.

Well, I ordered some new 944's for the rear, so the mods are underway. Monotubes next and then changed out the bars.

Did yours come with the stock suspension?
The bike I bought was slammed, has 10.5 Burly slammer shocks on, and not sure what was done to the front but, it's totally out of balance front to back. Soft front, stiff back.

Yes, suspension on '04 was totally stock. Put the 944's on the rear and ride is out of whack until I do the monotubes. Still rides better than the stock AirShocks.
Gonna do 10" bars and monotubes at the same time.
