You shouldn't be getting 15 volts in the maintenance (float) mode, only slightly over 13 volts.  The approximately 15 volts should be the second stage of the process.  If you are really getting 15 volts from the charger in the float mode (trickle, maintenance, whatever they call it), that is too high.

Thanks Jerry,  I agree.
And yes like most of the electronic things now a days it's a product made specifically for the store from China.  It hard to find things that say made in the UK any more.

I've disconnected it.
I'm going to return it l got it from a local place in town called Halfords an auto gadget store.

The Voltage reading was slowly dropping when it was in it's 3rd stage the float/ trickle mode it was showing a reading of 15V. I did a battery Voltage check it was at 12.9V (charger disconnected)

Then the last check I made the charger display was showing 15.8V  that's higher then what the manuals final charge Voltage in the cold charge column of 3.8A  that is 15.5V. final Voltage

Seeing it going to 15.8V after it had been on for roughly 10hrs  Nope I don't trust it.

Looks like it's back to the old school way with the motobatt charger "check and charge,...check and charge for now.

Looks like it is on eBay.

Would it be this one that is 12v 1.25A tender  you'd recommend?

 description
A 1.25A battery charger designed to fully charge a battery and maintain it at proper storage voltage without the damaging effects caused by trickle chargers.

Included is a quick connect ring terminal harness for hard to reach areas, and alligator clips for an alternate connection.

Key Features:

Output: 12 Volts DC @ 1.25 Amps
Automatically switches from full charge to float charging mode
Reverse Polarity Protection to ensure user safety. Red & Green lights flash alternately in this condition
Complete 4-step charging program
Safety timer: 72 hours....................What does this mean?  It turns off after 72 hrs? If so I wouldn't want that
Agency Approvals: UL/CSA/BC
5-year warranty

The 72 hour safety feature only kicks in if the charger runs that long in bulk charging mode and doesn't shift to absorption mode.  See attached specification sheet.

That is not the one that I supplied the link to... also w/the recent appearance of "fake" products on Ebay and Amazon I would buy direct from Battery Tender or locally vs online.

This is the one that I have that's been around for years.

http://products.batterytender.com/Dion/Battery-TenderR-Plus.html

The one in the plastic case pictured above I've seen at Costco and supposedly works the same but appears to have half of the warranty.

Breaking news!!! Just did a little research for you folks across the pond. Since Deltron doesn't show any European applications for their Battery Tenders I called them and found out that Harleys 2 chargers are made by Deltron and are in fact a version of the Battery Tender Jr. and the Battery Tender Plus which are also made for the European market. So....even though you'll probably pay a premium through Harley, that's the only way they are available over there.

Hope this helps

I noticed that as well only  5yr warranty  from a video I saw they say 10yr warranty.

That is a problem.  Deltron tenders are very reliable.  Have only had one fail & they replaced it several years after I bought it with no problems.

Good luck on your search to find a good, reliable & affordable one.  Things that used to be so easy to get have become complicated these days.

I own two... first one (which I still have) was the Harley branded by Deltron, second one is the Battery Tender branded.
