If I had to guess based on the thread title and this above. I would say he was wondering if the option to have a rear mounted camera would work with the Zumo 550 and that he likes the backup camera on his pickup.
I don't own a Zumo 550 so i don't know if it has the camera display feature or not.
I have had backup cameras on my two Chevy Avalanche trucks and love the feature but not sure if it would be needed on a bike? Unless there was a vision or mobility issue where you couldn't turn your neck very easily.
I assume if the Zumo has a camera option you could mount a small camera on the luggage rack or Tour Pak and run the cable up to the Zumo?
Here are some camera options that may work if modified :

Dave thanks for the explanation.

As for a Zumo accepting/connecting to a rear view camera or any camera for that matter I haven't heard of that option. :nixweiss:

My Nuvi does not accept a video input. If your doing this in your pickup,, how so? Is there an adapter out there to allow this? Besides, you should be more concerned of your front path then your rear path. Darn, i have hard enough time checking my GPS route. I would'nt go there.

No problems.  Have been looking at the cheerleader thread.  It's got all the rear view I'm presently interested in :drink: .

I believe somewhere on this site is a picture of a pretty sharp sport bike (pretty in pink) with a rear view camera. With that riding position I could see the benefit of the camera.

I had inquired about this to Garmin sometime ago, the response was only the units that were network capable could accept a video input.

I don't see why any unit with a USB input and capable of displaying an image couldn't display an outside video input.

My previous GPS (Garmin 276) had a software upgrade that allowed it accept an input from a "black box" video depth recorder (boat stuff).

I'm sure many of us use the GPS in more then one application.

For me, my GPS goes from the truck to the bike to the boat (mine) to whatever boat I maybe working on to whatever other vehicle I may be using.

As for video inputs I would love to see my favorite vehicle GPS (Garmin 478) accept a 2 source video input, one for a trailer hitch viewable camera and a second for the rear of the trailer view.

One step further would be switiching the hitch view to an inside the trailer view.

The capability is already available, just not for my GPS.

60-70K worth of bikes in a trailer it would be nice to keep an eye on them  :2vrolijk_21:
