Who's got the other one ?
« on: August 03, 2007, 11:02:18 PM »

Just came from Beagle's house. Sittin on his workbench was one cylinder head cover. One of the finned silver ones that blends the space around the spark plug with the rest of the cylinder. Only one. The other one's out on the highway somewhere according to Beags. I've got three out of four chrome head bolt covers on my bench - - - and so it goes.

Now I'm thinking with as many members as we have, we should be able to match up some of these odd socks. So post what you've got and we'll see who's got the other. Should be fun if nothing else

B B, I got stuff from one end of the garage to the other labeled Harly, but it's all take off stuff, mostly worthless DWG and Ultra stuff that everyone else has too.  But like you (and my dearly departed father) I still have it all.  Plus stock headlights for my 1976 912, 1978 911, old TR6 crap, Mini Cooper S (the real Mini pre-67) badges and stuff, Lotus Elan parts, 1976 FLH little pieces, worthless to anyone but me when I run across it and smile.

But no bolt covers or fin pieces, sorry to say.

Yeah, what he said, anything of value got scooped up by a bud with an electra glide standard. He used to be proud of his plain jane no chrome understated bike. Between my Road King and SEEG he now has one of the sharpest Electra Glide standards I have seen :)

Don't have the other fin cover, but do have the following mismatch parts...

One Chrome-Plated ABS Valve Stem Caps - "H-D®" Logo P/N 41146-97. The other is on the road somewhere.

Chrome Rocker Box Bolt Covers P/N 43868-99. Have three of these (they come in pack of four). Lost one on the road somewhere.

Fuel Tank Fitting Cover P/N 62809-06. Lost one of the screws to the floor or scooter that was never found. Searched for several days w/telescopic magnet in every nook and cranny of the bike but never found it. Anybody have an extra screw? The MoCo doesn't sell them separately (at least the instructions say you can't get them).

That's it for the mismatch parts, now for the take off parts I've got to many to mention. Like others I have them from previous bike(s) to current bike.

2 of which part? The one Spiderman is looking for or the screw I'm looking for?

Maybe not for this site, but if you were to put the name of a well known motorcycle manufacturer on the screw then it might hold true for some. :o :huepfenlol2:

Why am I always so misunderstood ?   :nixweiss:

I am not looking for the 4th headbolt cover. I'm offering up 1,2 or 3 if somebody's lost one. And that's my intent of this thread. Post what you've only got 1/2 of or whatever and maybe somebody else can use it.

That's funny Gary.  Mine has been on the bike with just two screws for two years.  Dropped one that magically transported to the ethereal plane of existence during the initial installation.  Just put in the two side screws and said "screw" it.
