RED SOX NATION
« on: April 08, 2008, 05:30:33 PM »

Being from New England I think it's natural to be a SOX fan. But what were the management thinking when they had Bill Buckner throw out the first pitch? I try not to be superstitious but after winning 2 world series why take the chance? Who would you have chosen for this honor?  KB

I just don't understand why choose him? So many talented people to choose from. Is there a CVO member out there that may have throne first pitch at a major league game? How were you chosen?KB

I'm not really too concerned about any standings.  After all, when the Royals lead a division you know something isn't right... ???

i believe the ownerships thoughts were to bring closure..and honor him and all the other guys from 86....  he in particular took much heat........the fans seemed pretty happy about it from what I could tell.

and as for 2lane and the standings..put yer money in vegas on the O's to win, or the Skankee's

G'ahed lol

Oh this is too rich for words. Makes me proud to be a Yankee fan even if I am from Maine. This has gotta be the most boneheaded thing I've ever heard of. The SOX finally shed the Curse of The Bambino, only to bring on the Curse of Buckner the Bobbler (or was it Gobbler   :o)

huh?

They have one a couple of World Series'...In few short years since they cam into the league.
The Sox would have the last one if it were not for the Marlins giving up Josh and Mike.

Oh, and they are in 1st in the NL east.
