New Harley for Rjob
« on: November 01, 2008, 08:17:34 PM »

Got my new HD today.............

In a drunken stooper last night I got into a discussion with a buddy about his old golf cart.

He tells me about these Harley's the guy has and how they aren't a bad price...................

and now the rest of the story.

So it was about noon when we retrieved my new ride from a shipping container out behind a small engine shop in the middle of nowhere.

I can ride it in the cold winter too, note the propane heater.

So I decided on this as the parking arrangement for the winter months.  Each of the units can get the battery tender this way, although the golf cart has a 36 volt charger of its own.   :2vrolijk_21:

For those that will undoubtedly ask, I paid through the nose for this non-CVO beauty.  $750.00

How sweet is that, an early 70's classic for cheap money, I had to buy it.  At that price I can always get rid of it if need be. :bananarock:

Roger,
That's nice, now I just wonder of all the additions you have to make so that it will be comfortable for the wife. Being that it is a H-D and all mods are done to benifit her have fun. ;D

I told her I got her a new Harley.  She was afraid to go in the garage since she already has two of our three.

The heater is a winner (if it works) and I need to mount some light.

Other than that I think I'm keeping it stock.  Kind of like Howie did with his SERK, even though I didn't get a TWO YEAR WARRANTY with it  :huepfenlol2:

Are those poured in place concrete walls?
You sure that's the garage not the vault.

And congrats on the three-wheeler.
Never figured I would get old enough to have a three-wheeler!

Very nice Roger, are you bringing it to Hood River in July? Need a stereo with Hawg Wired. And of course some of those swinging drink holders. Have fun with it. ;D :2vrolijk_21:

Yep, poured walls and I just epoxied them in a darker grey.  keeps it nice and cool except on the hottest days.

I always wanted a 3 wheeler but never thought it would be a golf cart.

Cool toy Rog!

Tiller control and is that a little electric fan to the right too?  Luxury man, luxury.

And with the single front wheel bet you can roll it any time you want to :2vrolijk_21: .

That is just so cool Roger.  I've seen those before, but never in a golf cart.  And the drink holder looks like it might hold a bottle of scotch.  I have absolutely no use for a golf cart.  Can't stand "pasture pool."  But a golf cart would make life easy on a flightline.   :2vrolijk_21:  Great find for $750.00.

Roger---nice addition. You are going to do something with that windshield aren't ya? Like a ClearView recurve or something? I'm thinking Wild One bars too!  ;D

Propane heater on right Don, takes a bottle in the rear compartment with the bags.

Been cruisin' some parts sites and haven't seen many alternatives for the windshield.  Mostly it'll get used on the compound for ridin' around to watering holes, but the true reason I got it is for our annual "redneck" tournament.  We can only use Club Cars on the course except during the redneck.

This year the organizer turned up the competition with his redneck special.

It is original paint, it has a few bumps and cracks in the rear that I may rework, but may just cover it with a Harley plate fame and somekind of insert.

You can see the classic Willie G design elements in the chrome front bumper and curved windshield but you gotta upgrade those wheels to something chromier! Great find - Ride it safely!

They do make a gas model as well.

Our community is "green" so I probably have a big enough carbon footprint for their liking, this one is 36V.

Nice cart!

I do have one of the snowmbiles. Black 440 got it with 5 miles on it.

Today has .........210 miles on it.

Long story on how I got this thing back in 1974, I ran it one time in 74 on the lakes for 90 miles that weekend and was so cold I never ran it anymore and took it up to my Uncle in Fargo ND.

He ran it about 120 miles that winter and put it in the back of his shed.

It is still their, he keeps after me to run up their and get it out of his place but I keep telling him after 33 years what's as couple more........

I do need to go get it some day.

The good part is my cost for it in 74 was $100.00 with a Leason trailer!

Thanks for the offer but it needs to be parked next to my XLCR that I bought new in 77, it has 610 miles on it.

This tread makes me ask myself, what else do we all have that is just "out back" that has to do with Harley that we bought back than and never sold?

I bet all of us could put it all together and have a heck of a show some place.

And a huge garage sale of little pieces too.

I was pretty sure you had no interest in selling it, but remember I have first dibs here.
