Picked the SESG up yesterday. The pictures just don't do this color justice. It is one sweet machine.
Here's a few pics I took today of it.

Thanks Gary...I couldn't resist a CVO Street Glide....now my stable's complete with the SEUC and SESG

The handling is a little nicer than the SEUC, but the power is a little lacking over the SEUC. But then again, I'm still running stock everything on the SESG. I'll be putting different pipes on it within a week or two, whenever they come in.

Right now, I'm just going to replace the stock cans with V&H 4" classics. I'm keeping the stock head pipes (yes, even with the Cat), until someone comes out with new headpipes with the new smaller O2 bungs in the new locations...don't know when that will happen. As you probably know the whole collector on the headpipes is the CAT now, so you basically destroy the collector trying to get the Cat out...so I'm just going to wait for new header pipes...maybe something for Santa to give me. :)

thanks Buy...with this bike it's going to be very easy to enjoy it. I really loved my '08 SG, but having a CVO version is what I really wanted...was glad I was fortunate enough to get one. These are going to be very popular.

You're absolutely right. I took those pics with my Nikon D90 and they still don't do the color justice. It's an outstanding color to look at in person...Caught my eye right away and I was sold on it. :)

Nice! Can you take a pic of the inside of the saddlebags? Wanted to see how much bigger they really are compared to regular bags...

I can do that tomorrow. :) They're actually not too much bigger inside. If you take your bolted on lower part and convert that into extra space inside, that's all you get. All of the "extra space" is outside of the bar that the bag rests on. It's deep enough and wide enough at the back of the bag that you can tuck the tool kit down there and it fits nicely in there. It's really not a lot of extra space, more for looks than anything else. :)

Why does your antenna appear taller than others I've seen in the CVO SG?

Dunno, that's the antenna that came with it. It's not really that tall though...maybe the pics make it look taller? :nixweiss:

Take a look at the (Tequila Sunrise -- Real World Pics??? -- Anyone?) thread. Notice the antenna is shorter. I'm sure both works just as well. My spiced rum has the shorter antenna.

Very Nice! I have Cobalt Blue SG's and I like the color of them, but between the Spiced Rum and the blue CVO SG, I like the Spiced Rum the best. You got a very nice bike now! I've been dropping hints to the wife about these new Glides, but I think the 2011 will be out by the time I convince her. Have fun man! I know your full of glee having that baby at the house. Hopefully no HD bugs come out to bite. :)

Hy,
congrats. Looks very nice. Enjoy it

Wow Charlie, killer bike! Best of Luck!

Very nice....start pounding the miles.

AWESOME looking bike RedDevil! :2vrolijk_21: Mine is another 4 weeks out before I take delivery - same color to! I can't wait. It is one of the most beautiful Harleys I've ever seen. Can't wait to actually see one in person :pineapple:. I noticed you put on the Vance and Hines 4" slip-ons. How do they sound in comparison to stock (which we all know sucks!). Also, did you have a fuel management system installed (PC, SERT, etc). Just curious, as mine will NOT leave the Dealer with stock pipes. Thanks, and congrats again on an awesome scoot!

Those are slip ons??? His pipes look exactly like the stock pipes on my new SESG.

I notice you removed that lil reflector on the rear over the license plate light.....how'd it come off? spyder

I'll talk to the dealer when I go back in to pick up the pipes and Pro Tuner...I looked at the HD website and the brochure and you're right, the antenna is shorter...maybe the dealer gave me the stock SG antenna instead of the SESG. :nixweiss:

I'm not sure...I told the dealer I wanted it "gone" before I picked up the bike, and it was when I got it...really disrupts the clean look of the rear fender IMO...and the license plate is illuminated by white LEDs and the two running/brake/turn LED strips in the bag filler strips are plenty bright...even in daylight...to not need that funky little reflector on the back...

Those are still the anemic stock cans. I've got the 4" V&H cans on order along with the SE Pro Race Tuner. (They should be in by the time I get back from Vegas next week.) They'll be slash downs. I know they'll sound 100% better than the stock mufflers, but not sure how much better with the CAT still in the collector...hopefully, V&H will be out with new header pipes shortly....

Surprisingly, it was momma that suggested that I sell the 08 SG and get the SESG. ;D She goes by how something looks and she loved the way the Cap'n Morgan looked, especially with the gold leaf ... so she gave me the thumbs up to start looking, and I don't have to be told twice to do that, especially when it comes to CVOs. The only stipulation was that the SEUC stays, I dare not trade or sell that one. She loves the Jester, and even though she's the BSR, that's her bike. I get to drive her around on it...it's not a bad job. She's taken good care of me for 35 years and God knows I need it! ;)

My wife ain't like that :nixweiss: That's a hell of a deal.
I am allowed anything but 2 of them.....at the present time. I am working on it.

Lucky,
Thanks for the catch on the antenna. I would have never thought to ask about it. Turns out that when my bike came in to the dealer from the factory, they didn't receive the antenna for it. So the sales manager, not wanting to let me leave without an antenna on it, put a Road Glide antenna on it and ordered the SESG antenna. Told them they can have the RG antenna back when the SESG antenna comes in. They apologized for forgetting to tell me that they had done that. I told 'em, don't sweat the small stuff. Just put the SESG antenna on when it comes in. That's what I love about this site...nothing gets by anyone and that gets things fixed. Thanks Lucky.

RedDevil, that's great! Glad you called them and asked. That's odd how the new bike didn't get one. Yeah, it'll look much better with the shorter antenna. First thing I noticed too on mine was, the antenna doesn't get in the way, it was short and flexible. A nice touch!

I've been looking for good pictures as often as possible on the SESG and I think your's are some of the best I've seen yet. I thought from what I'd seen already that the rum had the most depth and variation and I think your pics show that. I know I'll never see one in person before I have to decide which color to go with. I'm going to buy mine through Exchange new car sales in Iraq. They don't exactly have a showroom here, just a little room they have for an office. I did see a SG at the dealer in Kuwait before we moved up North though. I wish I'd taken a picture when I was there. Nothing like air cooling in the desert! I do know some soldiers stationed at that FOB who could send me a few pics if anyone would like to see what a HD dealer in the desert looks like.
Hope you enjoy your new baby, happy to hear your not shooting blanks.

Hey Sapper6, I've now seen 2 of the 3 colors in the flesh (Spiced Rum & the Concord Grape)......both look great! Nice paint jobs with the gold leaf & all. They pop in the sun. Just depends on whether you favor 'blue' or more 'earth tones'. I, for one, would love to see the Kuwait Dealership pic if you can arrange. :2vrolijk_21: spyder

I know a few Army aviation guys there. I'll get one of them to take a few photos and shoot them to me. In the meantime I'll see if I can get some shots of the local guy. He doesn't have a bike here, but you'll get the idea.
