Highway pegs mounts
« on: December 30, 2014, 03:01:15 PM »

For my size (5`11) the standard highway pegs on the 2015 FLTRUSE are a bit too far away for me to sit comfortably on the stretches. I would like to keep the pegs themselves as they are in the same style as the floorboards. Does any of you have suggestions for highway peg mounts which are angled, stylish and sturdy?

Go to Kuryakynand search "offset" and you'll get several variations of what may work.

X2  They are great and give you a lot of options to bring the pegs back to you.

I swapped out the stock mounts for these and used the stock pegs.  Works just fine and gets the pegs back where I can reach them comfortably.  I am also 5'11"  32" inseam.

They also make it in a shorter arm, which I have on my CVO King, and have them for the SERGU, jsut do not have them on yet.

Here is an alternative to consider that works very well for me:  UPDATE 2/11: Cleaner Location for Highway Pegs?

Thanks for all your replies :) hdaliaconis; as you are my size, did you go for the long or short angled ones?
It would be nice to keep the stock engine guard mounts/clamps as they have a nice design, but I guess it would be hard to find a solution where I keep the stock pegs and clamps and put a suitable angled connection mount in between... ???

Maybe something like this  :nixweiss:

  Highway Peg extensions

these are what i use on mine.  i have short legs, so i cannot use them by themselves.  but i can rest my heel on the floorboard and my toes on the highway pegs.  these come in short and long angled.  these are designed to fit with lowers.  there are a myriad of positions you can put them in, way back (like i have em), close to the crash bar, or forward for those with long inseam.  for those not so long of inseam, you can get the short angled and have them forward some, but not as far as the long.

this is how i have them set.   this is my old bike, but the setup is the same.

Great info guys I was wondering if reversing the angled would clear the lowers for my longer legs .I had done that on my 07 Glide without lowers ,and there is a shorter version now that will be the answer.

I like the 360 mounts I have ued them for about 60K miles.  Recently I tried the long angle mounts, could not get used to how close they were to the break and the shifter.  Went back to the 360s on the new street glide.  I am 6'.

I find the original HWY pegs work well for me and I am 5' 7". I have the mounts turned around so they are closer, angled them in and mounted them 2/3 the way up the bar. Really Comfy!

Good to hear that you are happy with your setup. I guess it is a matter of personal preferences (some like the mother and some like the daughter  ::) ) I prefer not to have my legs too high, but still being able to change riding positions during long rides. The solution of turning the mounts around will probably reduce the reach with an inch or so. I will try that. Thanks DownUnder!  :)

After riding down to the Thunder Beach Rally last week and experiencing the extream heat on my lower right leg, I need to make some adjustments. I want to try getting my pegs up as high as possible but the lower farings/radiators come in too tight on the engine gards so the peg brackets can't fit up high. Does anyone know if the long arm extensions could be rotated upward and still allow for pegs to be mounted with the proper angles?
