I have read on here to mill the heads and use the cometic thin head gaskets to raise the compression to 10:1. I am wondering if there is a reason not to just mill more off the heads and use the standard thickness head gaskets.

you should not be milling anything without checking your clearances and tolerances.
you can really do alot of damage.
i don't think you can take off to much off the heads, because it will actually change the characteristics. and maybe not for the better.

Yeah, 'er 'uh, TEXASTAL,
I assume you are a machinist? [smiley=nixweiss.gif]  Deck the Hell out of 'em! [smiley=thumbsup.gif]  Compression and Cubic Inches!  That's what it's all about.  The clay will determine your valve clearances.  If it's too close, fly cut your pistons.  Gaskets, maskets.  Git 'r dun!!  Later--HUBBARD
