Title: Melted cloth on heat shield

Like a dumb shot I touched the chrome heat shield when hot with a polishing towel , so melted on it any tricks to get it off and not scratch chrome , crap dumb move

Yes.  Use oven cleaner.  The good stuff not the environmental stuff.  It comes right off.

skin-so-soft (if you can find it) worked on plastic bag that hit pipe going down the road. anything with oil in it to rehydrate the material. maybe even wd40

Used oven cleaner took few soaks but off , and the wad stuff at end then polished looks good never again what. A pain
