Title: Color Schedule
Post by: mr_magoo on July 23, 2005, 02:05:49 PM
When will we know color schedule,  which color will be first?

Black candy crimson and charcol slate is the only color that's nice (in my humble opnion).  Those other two colors.......well uuhhmmmmm, I'll pass.

Thats the one the boss says she likes!!  I want to see the autumn haze before I decide on a color.  Not sure it would matter to her what color as long as she gets rear speakers.  Remember when we got the 04 and found out you couldn't get rear speaker she was mad.

Yea, I remember that Magoo.  And I remember her response to the back seat, too.  She must have really got excited when she saw the back seat on the Ultra Classic....with lumbar support and all. [smiley=nixweiss.gif]  So are you going to be keeping your Orange and black?

Yes the 04 will be my daily rider (haha) and set this one up for US to travel on.  First up will be what I think is the biggest F [smiley=nixweiss.gif]kup the lack of a 6 speed come on this is supposed to be an ultimate cruiser,  not sure about a HD one though may go Baker.  Want to talk to a few people that have them and then see what the folks here think(yes I do value the opionions of the people here).  Am going to get the crimson and slate.  Its not the first batch (autumn haze and black ships 8-24) but dealer is getting one just doesn't have a ship date.

Just not an eye grabber like the orange one.

Congrats on the new bike choice Magoo.  I'd choose the same paint option you did; like that should matter for anything.

For what it's worth, I've had the opportunity to put a few days riding on bikes with both the Harley and the Baker DD six speed.  Were I inclined to do one or the other it'd be the Baker.  Wouldn't be any doubt at all.

Thanks for the info on the Baker DD6.  I really want to see or hear from someone that sees the autumn haze,  is it grey or a dirty white?

Im confused which is nothing new. But the local dealer here is saying the green is the one coming to his dealership in August. With Autumn going to WA. that's two different colors coming to two dealers in Aug.  Can this really be the case ?

Perhaps they're not going to be staggered this year?  Would require some greater efficiency of product handling.  But even for HD, that's possible  [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

Think you're right 2Lane....at least HD is telling the dealers that the CVO "color confusion" issue was taken care of this year.  Whatever that means.  Guess I'll know more when they get home the end of the week.  Many of the poor souls (dealer buddies) are riding from Denver to Albuquerque on new demo's then flying home.  Sitting here at 95degrees with 98% humidity makes those mountains quite appealing.

My local dealer told me that ALL the colors would be available throughout the year,no phase 1,phase 2 or phase 3 distribution.

That's great for prospective buyers.  Even if not at any one shop side by side they'll at least have the opportunity of driving a bit and seeing them all at the same time.  If there's one color scheme that really doesn't measure up in real life, however, this actually giving folks options will hurt it.

JC....You must be reading my mind.  I'm in the midst of working up a deal with a client of mine in Tahoe.  If it comes together, I'm going to coordinate with Street Vibrations.  Got a new '06 AIH chopper avaialble to ride if I can make the trip work.  Would really enjoy spending some time with ya'll.

The local dealer (sales manager) told me today that they will be getting a green in the second week of August.  Asked him about the other colors and said they would be comming later as in the past phase 1, phase2, etc.  Evidently he has not got the word.  Also, he seemed to know very little about the bike as the only info he said was on the web and a copy of a brochure that he mentioned.  Will go back in a couple of days to see if any more info available.

Is it just me or does the bike seem to be leaning ALOT? Maybe it is sitting on a slant or the angle of the picture accentuates it.  [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

I saw one of these bikes recently & the leather tour pack doesn't bother me at all, but there is NO WAY I would consider paying 30K for a bike in that ugly green color.... [smiley=confused5.gif]

It's taken me most of my life, but I've finally learned "never say never" .  In this case, however, I have to agree that I would not spend 33K for a bike with that paint scheme.  What I would pay for, however, would be as follows:  Ultra in solid black (no stripes, doo-dads, etc) with a black and chrome 103" engine, chrome front end package, fancy chrome wheels, top quality rear air suspension with on-board compressor and automatic ride height control, cartridge type adjustable front suspension, six piston Brembo front brakes, and a really comfortable seat.  A modern sound system would also be nice, but not absolutely essential.  Unfortunately, to get something like that I'll have to build it myself.

They've been making one of ea. of the colors in the show bikes since the 2004's that I know of........maybe before.  But, like in '04, if you wanted to see the pumpkin SEEG, you had to be at one of the shows or hit it just right when it was back in town at the York, PA plant.  They evidently didn't paint but one pumpkin for the 1st half of the year, then stopped painting the Huckleberrys and started producing the Pumpkins.  They could still be doing them in phases like that......      [smiley=nixweiss.gif]     spyder

I feel your pain, and know of it well!! [smiley=disappointed.gif] I had to wait NINE months for my  [smiley=pumpkin.gif] (Otober - July) [smiley=confused.gif]. Lucky for me it was mostly cold months, not much bike riding did I miss. But I'm telling you when spring came around I could hear a Hog start two counties over.  [smiley=cry2.gif]  I didn't get mines from local dealer (could only get put on list, but found dealer in NC that still had some of his allotment unspoken for), talking about being on pins and needles. The entire time I was really worried that something was going to happen with deal even though I had sent them deposit. Not being local, and previous customer, CVO bike, I just knew I was going to get a call and be told that they were returning my deposit for some reason that I wasn't going to get the bike.

I would call every couple of weeks to talk to salesman for updates just to keep myself fresh on their mind. Now something that added to my anxiety was about a month before it was time to pick up bike I called several days asking for salesman that I was working with and he was never there. They kept trying to refer me to another salesman, after a few days I figured out that the salesman I was working with was no longer employed there. Now you talking 'bout stress!!! But in the end it all worked out and I'm happy.

Hey Fired, I understand what you're sayin.  I must of called about 20 dealerships trying to locate one of the black/char bikes.  I got a lot of different answers. Some said yea, we can put your name on a list, some said they can't pre-sell bikes, some said they could take my $$$, but couldn't give me a date or color schedule. Like you, with so few bikes available, I didn't want to just be ON  a list.  So, I finally found one that gave me a date and took a deposit.  I'll miss the great fall riding season, but at least I can sleep at nite and not worry about my name on some list.  [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

Hawgdoc, would you reveal your source for that info? Seems like I had heard that same thing earlier, but all we've seen is greens ones.  Unless they are going to build each color for one month, then switch.  Personally, I just wish they would hurry up and do a couple of black/char ones.   [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif]
