GPS Cable
« on: January 28, 2022, 09:06:08 PM »

I want to remove the handlebar GPS mount on my 2011 FLTRUSE, anyone know how the cable is routed? I could always just cut it but would prefer not to in case I ever decide to reinstall it. Thanks in advance!

Inside the bars down the left side. I changed bars on my '11 years ago and that was not fun. If you're just looking to get rid of the mount for looks, I'd rather learn to like the looks before doing what I did. If you're changing bars, it's coming out anyway. The easiest way to remove it would be to depin the wires from the mount and pull them through the bottom of the bars. There are two "Y"s in that harness that make it so difficult.

Yep, depin the mount was what had to be done to add this to my 13 CVO King.  Really a pain to add.  Was also a pain to switch to 14" Factory 47 bars on my 15 CVO Road Glide Ultra.  Had to depin them also.

Added a 660 to my FLHXSE3 when it was new....instructions said it could NOT be internally installed( that sounded like a challenge to me!!!).....de-pinned the mount ...don't recall it being too bad of a job.  I kept the 660 and left the mount as my new MY20 has no need for the 660...but,,,I use it in my work van.
