S&S Engine Durability
« on: July 24, 2022, 09:14:57 AM »

I replaced the 110" in 2010 Street Glide with a 120ST, the 110"had 150K but the 120ST only lasted 40K very disappointing. I decided to go with a T124 from S&S after that experience. Does anyone has an S&S T124? Curious about durability and longevity.

S&S continues to have a outstanding reputation over many years.

I am nearly certain that S&S fixed Harley’s sump problem a few years ago for them.

Good people to deal with. I recommend you call and ask them what their experience with the platform has been.

I am very impressed if you rode nearly 200k miles on the same scooter.

CONTINUE TO RIDE SAFE!!

Regards

Jerry

over winter had S&S 124" put in my 2012 SG by Don @ HD Street Performance.  You will not be  be disappointed.  Contact Don on this forum and he will go over options for your specific need. There are some very good sources here for motor work.

Thanks guys. I went out yesterday and put the first 500 miles on so I'll change the oil today and get the remaining 500 on to complete the break in. I've been following the recommended break in to the letter. It runs smooth and seems good do far.

Yes, I am at 1,200 miles on the engine and ready for for tuning. My dealer has dyno issues but is expected to be back online this week so I'll share the numbers when done.
The 124 pulls stronger on top than the 120ST and revs quick but I'm still getting familiar. So far I am impressed with the power and the smoothness and the only negative I've noticed is the heat which I expected with the larger engine.
