Noise from heat shield
« on: March 01, 2011, 09:03:27 PM »

When I received my FLSTSE2 the front exhaust heat shield did not fit very well where it meets the muffler heat shield... I could hear a metallic rattling noise at some RPMs that seemed to come from the front heat shield too...  Dealer did not want to adjust the shield so eventually I did... I made the joint between the two heat shields meet neatly just as the rear shields looked.  Dang.. noise did not go away.  Next I removed the front heat shield and wa-la... no noise.  I have now adjusted the front shield so that it is WAY away from the muffler... looks very bad but no noise..
Anyone else worked over this problem?

The plan is to install a 2 int 1 system... but need to wait till TTS has tuner software for this bike... sometime this spring they say...
