it's on the way, should have it back mid next week,, I wouldn't use this seat ever without a back rest. I took a shot with Auto Original in Farmington, New Mexico.. I cant wait to try it out.. I am also having it jelled for some extra comfort.. The back plate came off my 04 seeg passenger backrest.. I thought it would dress up the back side of it. Im told it will adjust up and down and will be able to lean it front to back.. Should be good.

They charged me 325.00. Including the jell pad. And the shipping back. You can most likely order a pad from hd. As long as you ha be a vin I think. I can't wait till this gets here. Should be next Wednesday. I'll post some pics on the bike soon.

Yes. I was told to send the rear pillon. It also had to be modified so that should be coming back together

You mean you've added this backrest to your seat ?
I'm looking for a way to do this for FLHRSE5...

Just added the back rest. The passenger pillon had to be modified too. No custom mount. Goes in the stock position.

just got the stock seat back today and popped it on... came out better than I thought and had lots of adjusments too.. Up and down and the tilt can be moved as well... Theys guys are really good.

Lots of rain here lately. Should be able to get a good ride in on Saturday. That will be a good test. It seems good in the garage,, a good ride will tell.

Yes, same guy. AUTO ORIGINAL in Farmington. Talk to Seth if interested. Although I think Stu went through someone else. Seth was good to work with.

Yes. Seth with Auto Original did my seat. Great guy to work with. I love it. Just waiting to take it on a good ride. He is a very talented guy.

I'm glad that you'all like the work that Seth did on your seats. He is a good guy and very talented. I knew that when he did my seat that many others would be interested. I did not think that it would take off like it has. But he seams to be very busy with seats from this site.

I actually thought the stock seat on the SESG3 was very comfortable, but badly needed a back rest. I purchased the Mustang Wide Tripper solo w/backrest and have found out just how "uncomfortable" the stock seat was. That Mustang is awesome! But to be honest, had there been the option to put the backrest on my stock seat, I would have done it. I'm glad to see there is an option now. But I won't give up the Mustang, it is really comfortable.

X2. I was not unhappy with the stock seat (how's that for a ringing endorsement?), but really needed a backrest. Went with Corbin and am happy with it, but probably would have done the same thing Stu's done here. Looks really good, Stu!

Just wondering why the MoCo couldn't have offered this backrest option on a $35,000 'sickle to begin with?

Well I talked to Seth and the price has went up. He quoted me $375.00 to install the backrest, gel it and ship it back. That was with me providing my passenger back rest to modify.

How do you like the seat MOD? Is the GEL worth it? I talked to the guy last week and I am thinking about doing it. Did you buy a new back rest pad? If so do you have a part number for the pad?

after all that.. i really dont think it was worth it,,, i have a mustang seat that is so much more comfortable soi i use that one,, i wouldnt do it again seat is nice and their work is great,,, that seat sucks is all,,

I think it's called. Vintage. It HAS a rider backrest. And a rear pillon is available fot the passenger. It's really a great seat. I don't use the seat I modified at all anymore. That was really a waste. Get the mustang!!

Best decision I ever made was getting rid of the stock seat on my SESG3 and getting the Mustang Wide Tripper Solo w/back rest. Great for all day riding. You can also get a p-pillion for it too. I didn't get one, as I ride the SESG3 solo. (Use the SERGU for two-up riding)

What's the position difference between your Vintage seat and the 1st, higher ? nearer ? Mustang seats are said to fit long legs and arms...

I now have a Vintage super solo w/ backrest on my SESG12. I am so glad I went with this and did not send my factory to NM for mod. I ave thee 15 Solo on my RK03 and the good news is the rear Mustang will fit on my SESG12 17" super solo. That will save me 200 bucks! The only issue is it did push me forward on the bike a bit but the comfort of ther seat and the back rest is well worth the lost space!! The Mustang is truley the Best out of the Box seat for comfort, Quality, and $$$!!

Sounds like a solo seat I would be interested in. I'm 5'6" and I do need pushed forward. I noticed that Mustang doesn't make a reach seat $:-\$ . Do you think this will put me forward more than a stock seat?

I think so it says in info it gives you 1.25" more space than stock seat but I now have a bend in my knees on my road pegs where before i was straigh leg on them. It did seem like it raised me up from ground some. I am 6'4" so not an Issue with raise may give you problems with feet on ground. I will get a measure to night to see what the seat height is now!!
