New WindVest windshield
« on: June 24, 2014, 12:35:24 AM »

Getting ready for my mainland trip and pulled the trigger on a windshield.  I wanted it functional yet discreet, retaining our bike's style and character.  Very pleased, it works just fine.  I may even keep it on after I return.  This is the 14" model.

How well does it work to keep the wind off your face?  Looks very subtle  :)

Any issues at higher speeds?  Sorry for all the questions, but you got me thinkin'.

Got one on my Night Train for road trips and love it.  It makes a world of difference at highway speeds.

I've had mine for eleven years. It's been on three of my bikes over that period: '99 Sportster, '04 Wide Glide and now my new CVO Breakout. Had to buy larger diameter brackets for the bars on the CVO. If you want style and minimal intrusion from a shield, it's a great choice. Keeps most of the wind off my face. I've gone 65,000 miles with this Windvest and have no intention of changing for another.

Looks great, I will have to check them out.  I kept my windshield from my WideGlide and it works great on the Breakout, but I might have to give this one a try, it does fit the style of the bike better.

I personally love the wind in my face and I've fought the whole windshield thing for years.  However, after 4 bee stings in the facial area in the past year, as well as a 5000 mile trip planned in September, I feel the WindVest is a damn good compromise.  Definitely keeps wind off my chest, as well as my face to a certain extent.  The wind just makes it over the top of my head.

Comes in two sizes last time I checked. 14" and 16" Mine is the 16" so you could go smaller. Smaller one won't protect as well if you're on the tall side. You get some wind in the face but I have no problem with that. I can always duck down if a big rig comes blasting by.
