Scary thought when you consider the heat issues with the 110" motor.   :nervous:   :nervous:

From whom?  What's the source/citation?

I read it on the internet.  But that's only because I just read this thread.

Some more of that wishful thinking posted on the internet by folks who don't seem to understand that the 120R is NOT what you would get if Harley actually came out with a street legal regular production 120.  Unless it was done in conjunction with a new water cooling system (not likely anytime soon), what you would get would be a worse fiasco than the original 110.  It would be severely cheapened, it would run very hot, and it wouldn't result in much in the way of performance increases in stock emission legal form.

I'm still waiting for a powertrain from Harley that is good right out of the box and doesn't require thousands of dollars worth of mods to run right and last for an appreciable amount of time.  I have no illusions of them making it as good as the stuff Honda or BMW have been doing for years, but it would be nice to at least start in that direction.  I guess I'm just a dreamer.

120 would be neat to see, but I am happy with my 110.

I still wish Mother Harley would offer the 120R in silver.  The old SERG would rock a 120R and I couldn't build it for the cost.

They all too often do.  Trying to drive interest/sales.  But they very rarely actually know more than rumor themselves.  This group is often better informed than the sales weenies at the dealerships.

Yup.  Of course they had to get Porsche to design and develop it for them, and then they stuck it in a chassis that doesn't appeal to either traditional Harley customers or to the youth market.  Perhaps if they had put that engine in a more traditional (for them) chassis, we would all be riding water cooled V-Twins now instead of an old obsolete design.

As long as they have the current customer base, they don't have to come up with anything that's really good and reliable right out of the box.  I get the distinct impression that a lot of folks view owning an unreliable overpriced Harley as a badge of courage or honor.  Eventually, however, that customer base will die off and be replaced with people less willing to "settle".

So, it might be reliable by about the 2016 model year.
