I think everyone on here understands what wearing a helmet can do.  They also understand the risk they take by not wearing one is.  Good reminder.

That said it's a personal choice.  I usually wear one, that said, I have rode with out one around Daytona or such.

Let me guess.  You're from the government and here to help, right?

I've done that too.  Wear the helmet while riding out to the National Park.  Then once inside I wear my hat.  I know it's not as safe as a helmet, but it's easier when putting around the park at 15mph and stopping every few minutes or every 200 hundred yards for a look-see.

On November 4th, 2020 my wife and I hit a buck at 50 mph less than 1/2 mile from our house. My head hit the pavement hard enough to crack my helmet. My wife went sliding down the street putting some serious rash on her leather jacket and ripped up her jeans. We both walked (I limped) away from the crash. My CVO was totaled. 2 weeks later I bought another CVO with my insurance money. I credit helmets, leather, and the hand of God for our existence on this side of the dirt. I respect all people's choice and would never want the government making that choice for me, but me and my sweetie lived to talk about it.

AS THEY SAY AGAT, ALL THE GEAR ALL OF THE TIME. :)

As others have noted, majority of the time I wear a helmet. however sometimes I ride without. As O get older I thin I get smarter.

No way #17 was survivable

I'd go so far as to say it wasn't even real.   The only way fiberglass bends like that is if it was was melted.
