That is a very bad idea. Hackers will figure out how to shut your car down. The crimes hackers could use this feature to commit are plentiful.
-
This is not new tech. It has been there for many years on a lot of vehicles. Think OnStar. The feds are simply coming up with new perversions as to how to use it.
-
Not just hackers, what about sensor/computer chip failure? Things like rebooting/recalculating at most inappropriate times etc. No roadside fixes just if you survive shutdown it would have to be towed to a shop with diagnostic and part availability.
-
Car theft rings would figure this tech out & use it to steal cars. Other than that, it is one of the dumbest ideas I have ever read, but anymore it seems like dumb is the prerequisite for laws out of DC.

in Roanoke,Va they now have a city ordinance (law, whatever they call it ) to charge you for every plastic bag you use fron the sore. ( i think it's .10 per bag). we have no say in how food is manufactored & packaged. plastic bottles & containers for everything. used to have choices, paper or plastic. not anymore, now they want to charge you & what about double bagging. they want everyone to bring their own cloth totes. how many vehicles are ya gonna stock totes in? how many are ya gonna store in all the extra space on your bike if ya wanna stop off on the way home ? sorry didn't mean to hijack thread. just thinking about govt control with no say for American citizens.
