Title: Brass CVO Key
Post by: Frank FX on October 28, 2022, 12:35:10 PM
I have a Brass Key in a nice box from HD when I bought a 2011 CVO Softail. Are these sought after as a collectable and what is its value?  Thanks, Frank

It was keyed to the bike and should have travelled with it.

I suppose some people will collect anything.
Stick it up on eBay and see what you get.

Let us know how that works for you.

I get a lil sensitive at times myself Frank, he means no harm. But if you think that brass key is worth something more than so be it. I use the one I got with my 09. I'm sure to some folks it is special and they have it in the box it came in put away in a drawer.

What kinda value do you put on it is my question?

There are 4 of them on eBay right now. One has a bid of $42. The others have buy it now prices of $49 and $75, with no action on them. Everything is worth something to somebody. Looks like you can put it on eBay and move it if you don't want too much for it.

I would buy it for $10,000.00 but only if the bike came with it  ;D

Ooooh, I am wounded.  Wait, no, that was just a fart.

The key still should have gone with the bike.  If you have any record of who bought the bike be a good dude and reach out to them.  If no such record exists I'd destroy the key since it does actually match a bike.  But I'm just a smartass so what do I know (he'll say some version of "not much").

From eBay.  Type "HARLEY-DAVIDSON CVO Gold Key" into the search bar.  Scroll down and on the left side you will see "Sold Items".  Click the box and you will see how much other similar keys have sold for...... or just click below.

I looked at link and was surprised at what people are asking/getting for the gold key and box. I’ll have to quit opening my fat tire with it, get the polishing rouge and buff it out on the wheel.  :drink:

It is also worth more if you polish it using the lint taken from the belly button of a (species undefined) virgin.

I have nothing for that, speechless is an understatement.  :vrolijk_24:

Maybe I should try to sell the few I have on E-bay.  Didn't think they were worth anything.

You can buy it (virgin's belly button lint) on Amazon.

Sold it on Facebook Marketplace locally for 50 bucks, better than sitting in my desk. I forgot I had it.

There is a box?

My key has been sitting on my desk since 2005. Don't remember a box and, vaguely recall getting two gold keys.

2004's didn't come with a box either. :( I think mine is in a Crown Royal bag in my drawer with other extra vehicle keys. :D

That must have been a dealer thing... the MoCo wasn't providing boxes for them. :nixweiss:

I must be a LUCKY DAWG!!! I actually have the complete dealer package still sealed including the shipping label from the factory as it was when shipped. Shame I don't have the bike anymore. But I have the option to buy it back. Yes I am considering it!!!!

Happy Thanksgiving My Brother. Hope all is well.

LOL!!! Guess you were a "Lucky Dawg" to get the key in a box. I still have all the original stuff that came with my bike also... don't have a VCR to play the tape that came with it though. :D

You know if you want you can buy my bike too... I know if you did it would be loved and talked to in the garage as I'm now doing with it (with very little riding). :huepfenlol2:

Happy Thanksgiving to you too!!!

Buy it back, don't buy D00d's, because he needs to have it to talk to as I do mine.  They're great bikes, and really were the 'original' street glides, but 'custom'.  Long live the SEEGs !!!!   har!  spyder
