Post by: Paulgta on March 13, 2023, 10:02:45 PM
Hey guys doing some work on the bike and noticed both bolts that hold crossover pipe bracket to oil  pan are broken flush.  I have welding nuts on car heads to get broken studs out any one have this problem and solutions with out replacing the upper oil pan ?

I start with PB Blaster, letting it soak overnight.
Center punch the stud,  cause it's no longer a bolt, I put electrical tape on the bit to mark a max depth.
I use a small diameter left hand drill bit to make a pilot hole, moving the size up.
Sometimes I get lucky and the bit grabs the stud and unthreads it, if not then its time for an easy out.
If it is stubborn you  can heat around the  stud and then install the easy out and try again.

If KROIL won't do it, get the drill jig out.  ::)
