Title: Anyone find aftermarket engine guards for the FXDFSE???
Post by: ryr8828dj on March 31, 2009, 07:02:17 PM
Has anyone found aftermarket engine guards that fit the FXDFSE?  Moustache or otherwise.  Something other than the huge ones MoCo offers.

I've seen only a couple threads on this topic and no resolution. My best pal has just acquired a Black/Fire Quartz and ask the same question.

Has anyone made this mod to an FXDFSE yet. Pics would be appreciated.

Lindby Custom Multibar is what I finally went with.  It works well for me.

I can't see from you're pic; were you able to save the chin spoiler? From Lindby's site I can see they mount to a new Forward Control Bracket.

spoiler view... can't tell from this pic but I've got a fan forced oil cooler in the chin spoiler.

Looks great. Hate to be too nosey, but what windshield did you get (part number) and what are the chrome strips on your battery cover. (Can't see the one on the other side)

Looks great!!

Its a Clearview windshield.  Had to buy the HD shield to get the bracket then had Clearview make a custom windshield to fit the HD brackets.  The shield works great...the HD one caused a lot of wind buffeting but with the contour on the Clearview the buffeting is gone. Had it cut wide and just the perfect height for me.  As far as the battery cover and the fuse box cover I liked the conventional Dyna look so I had to buy a standard (non CVO) battery cover, had it painted to match and put the HD chrome on both sides. Think it completes the bike.

You're right, Looks nice. Very descreet mods. Funny you've landing on the exact same thing I have. I don't think he'd go to the lengths you did... he's not likely to go through the hoops of a custom windshield or painting other covers (I would, but it's not my money)

Thanks for the info.

Nick

Thanks...that's what I was looking for descreet mods.  Wasn't trying to change too much of the look cause I really love the looks of this bike.  :2vrolijk_21:
