Harley 117 Drop on Build in progress
« on: January 21, 2016, 10:41:38 AM »

Spoke with Dave this morning and we are going to build it.  Bike is a 2009 ( mint btw silver RG )  specs are as follows

HD 117 kit  ( should be here first of next week ) ( yes we will put them into tq plates and check them , as we do on all cylinders)
GMR Head work
GMR 600 Cam
GMR lifters & Push rods
S&S crank
S&S 3 stage pump
S&S cam plate
DD zilla pipe ( currently on bike)
HPI 58E FBW
6.2 Injectors
TTS tuner
Clutch upgrades ( had planned on a AIM with the 113 build but that may change )
Air cleaner .. Maybe the new T-Man zero loss kit. Another item up in the air at this point.

Since these are new kits and nothing is known about them.  We would all appreciate if someone would put torque plates on the jugs and check them for roundness and size.   :nervous:

GMR Steve has indicated he is doing that
and should be standard practice for any one using the MOCO kits

What are the options to get this to 10.5/1, are there piston options for this or just decking the heads?

I'm probably wrong, but usually Harley slugs are several thou below deck, yielding the advertised 9.9:1. Calculators indicate roughly 10.4:1 cr @ zero deck.

Just wondering... If you are splitting the cases for S&S flywheels why not bore cases for non drop in 117 cylinders ?
