Clutch bleed nipple
« on: August 07, 2021, 08:19:44 PM »

Anyone know what size the clutch bleed nipple is on an 07 springer?

Was going to bleed mine when the top of the nipple decided to part ways with the screw.

Don't know the size but they are available through HD.  Be VERY CAREFUL removing the broken one.  I had to use heat and an Easy out and I drilled the hole a bit too deep which cost me a new trans cover.

I was told the nipple wasn’t available separately, I had to buy a whole new cover.

$2.99 is what Harley charges for the little rubber nipple cover.  No one here really wants a nipple cover.  The entire nipple, however, is still available from Mother Harley for about $15.  I bought one earlier this summer.  An area dealer had it and I didn't have the two or three days to wait for a $6 aftermarket part to get here.

Ban the nipple covers!

Oops... eyes got crossed with two items numbered 37. You're right the entire nipple is $14.49 P/N 446103-02... regarding the nipple cap I picked up a pack of 6 from Advance Auto P/N 47392 for $3.29.

There is also a Bleed nipple, which I didn't know that is what it is called, on a 2011 CVO Road Glide.  I have a brother who has the 11, but my first CVO was a 13, it didn't have a nipple. :nixweiss:

I does have the bleeder nipple, it's under the cover that says six speed on it.

Yes the videos on youtube are all of the later "hidden" bleeder screw. Requires loosening (at minimum) if not removal of the exhaust (painful !)

Late LATE reply, the FXSTSSE/2/3 the bleeder screw (bleed nipple in Australia) is a 1/4 inch.  And VERY visible (and vulnerable to road grime)

Best to use a "Shaped" 1/4 hex socket to loosen (not a 12 point) to minimise the chance of rounding that wee sucker.

And SOAK that wee bastard in penetrant for 24 hours first !
