Amen Rog.  This one happened to be especially efficient though.  Disregard is to a certain degree disrespect; even to strangers.  More so with those we know of course.  But even with riders we've never met.  Having said that I never do more than scan this section for the occasional location that's close to home.  Too many to keep track of otherwise.  So the blanket welcome every few months is the best I can manage.

Don't expect a blanket though, the eco meltdown means you don't even get a hanky these days, much less a blanket......

That's ok though.  The blanket was always just a metaphor for the warm fuzzy feeling of mutual respect, consideration and conversation we share with each other.  Really.

I have a stadium blanket from Sports Illustrated they sent as a gift for renewing my subscription.  I'm willing to share it with newbies.  However, I've never discounted the properties of thermal retention from old newspapers.  Homeless people in cold climates might be on to something.

A metaphor?  There never was a real blanket?  The mutual respect, consideration when combined with conversation is  good idea whose time has not passed, but sometimes it seems fuzzier than warm.
