Electronic throttle
« on: July 11, 2007, 01:28:18 PM »

so you're going down the road and the electronic throttle screws up...then what?  too fast...too slow...I like the idea of a cable that I can open or close the throttle blades if I get in trouble...the second (return) cable was required many years ago just in case your throttle return spring broke...and what with my heated grips already screwing up with all the wires in the bars and the motor companies fine??? reputation for electronics well lets just say I really am glad that I bought an '07.

Agreed. Lots of "what ifs." I'm just not ready for it.

The 'cable' on your car or truck is probably just like the new Harley cable.  This is old technology that has been around for a while and tried and proven on millions of vehicles.  My experience in the auto industry has proven that their are less problems with this type system than there are with actual cables. I ahve had broke throttle cables on bikes and cars.  I haven't had problems with this technology.  I, for one, think we'll be OK with it.  IMHO

Only time will tell. I hope this works as it cleans up bars.
